Situated on the Halifax Mainland Commons, The Lacewood Terminal is LEED® accredited to meet LEED® silver designation.
The Lacewood transit terminal was designed as an island platform with 14 bus bays, spanning across a 400 foot long site and acts as an integral part of a community hub, locating users next to the Canada Games Centre and Keshen Goodman Public Library. The building is a tilt-up concrete structure with integral concrete benches designed as part of the walls in the passenger waiting areas. This efficient construction style provided a great deal of support towards completing the project effectively on the accelerated timeline. The terminal is LEED® accredited to meet LEED® silver designation. It was designed for pedestrian safety, high visibility and traffic flow. The building contains interior waiting areas, barrier-free washrooms, a security office, and a lunchroom with kitchenette.
